AIO- All-in-One- Printers that are capable of scanning, copying, and faxing.
Chip-Microchip used on most ink and toner cartridges that communicates with the printer and keeps track of the cartridge page count.
Color Laser Jet Printer-Uses black, cyan, yellow, and magenta toner to produce all other colors needed.
Core- Empty cartridge used for remanufacturing.
Developer Roller/Mag Roller- Transfers the charged toner to the imaging drum of the cartridge.
Doctor Blade- Evenly distributes the charged toner to the developer roller.
Duplex- Option if capable, of printing double-sided prints.
Hopper- Section of cartridge that contains the reservoir for the toner. Also houses the Dr. blade, and developer roller.
Imaging Drum- Cylinder in toner cartridge that transfers the printed image onto the paper.
Inkjet Printer- Printer that uses ink and not toner.
LaserJet Printer- Printer that uses a laser with toner to produce print.
Monochrome- Black print only.
OEM- Original Equipment Manufactured. Any cartridge from the manufacturer that is new (unopened) in the original packaging.
Officejet Printer (HP)- Multi-functional printer that uses ink that is intended for business use.
Paper Feeder- A device that is used to automatically feed paper into the printer.
PCR- Primary Charge Roller. Component that erases the image from the imaging drum, preparing it for the next print job.
Printhead- Component of an ink cartridge that helps transfer the ink onto the page.
Remanufactured- A process done after the original cycle of the cartridge is completed. This process includes refilling of the toner and cleaning or replacement of any components that is needed.
Toner- A dry thermoplastic powder inside a cartridge used to develop an image onto the paper.
Waste Section- Section of cartridge that contains the used toner. Also houses the wiper blade, PRC, and imaging drum.
Wiper Blade- A rubber blade the wipes off the excess toner from the imaging drum.
